About
Hi, I’m Katie—and I’ve Been There Too.
I’m a board-certified Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P), and mood repair and recovery nutrition coach. But before any of that, I was in your shoes, dragging myself through the day. I was exhausted, sad, anxious for no reason, and fed up with not being able to find long-term relief.
It took years of trial, error, and relentless digging to find the answers I desperately needed. I became the practitioner I wish I had back then—not someone to throw a one-size-fits-all plan at you, but someone to help you actually connect the dots, understand your body, and start feeling like yourself again.

What I Do (and Don’t Do)
Let’s start with a couple things I don’t do:
When I work one on one with you, what I don’t do is give you a “one-size fits all” protocol. I’m not a cookie cutter kind of person and neither are you! You’re way too unique for that.
I don't simply manage or "mask" symptoms. That’s nothing more than a temporary fix. The main objective here is to heal what’s to blame for your symptoms, aka the root cause so your symptoms stay away for good.
What I do instead:
I take the time to understand your full story—health history, lifestyle, and current symptoms.
I use functional lab testing to uncover what's actually going on beneath the surface.
I connect the dots and help you understand why your symptoms are happening.
I create a customized plan that meets you where you are—one that fits your life.

HOW I WORK
Real healing doesn’t come from one magic pill, quick detox, or perfectly curated supplement routine.
And honestly, that’s a relief—because it means there’s nothing “wrong” with you for not feeling better yet. You just haven’t had a plan that looks at the whole picture.
Your body isn’t a collection of separate parts—it’s an interconnected system. When one area gets thrown off, everything else scrambles to adapt. The result? Symptoms that seem random but are actually messages from your body asking for attention.
My 3-Pronged Approach helps you understand those messages and respond to them in a way that creates lasting change.
We look beneath the surface to find what’s quietly overloading your system, retrain your brain and nervous system so they stop firing false alarms, and build simple, sustainable habits that keep you grounded even when life gets messy.
This process blends science with intuition—equal parts detective work and nervous-system regulation, tailored to your unique story. It’s not about perfection; it’s about partnership between you and your body.

Pain Reprocessing Therapy
Even after physical healing begins, the brain can sometimes stay stuck in an old pattern—continuing to misinterpret harmless signals as dangerous. Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) helps break that loop.
Think of it like updating your brain’s software. Over time, the brain can learn to associate certain sensations—like tightness, pain, or fatigue—with danger, even when there’s no actual threat. PRT uses a blend of neuroscience-based tools and somatic practices to help your brain relearn the difference between danger and safety.
In practice, this means teaching the brain new, accurate information through real experiences of calm and safety. We do this through practices that go far beyond basic mindfulness—techniques like somatic tracking (learning to notice sensations with curiosity instead of fear), expressive writing to release stored emotional tension, visualization and safety reconditioning exercises that teach the brain new associations, and corrective emotional experiences that literally rewire old fear pathways. These tools retrain how your brain and body communicate, helping your system stop reacting like you’re in danger when you’re really not.
The result isn’t just less pain or anxiety—it’s a recalibrated brain that no longer overreacts to safe sensations. When your brain learns to interpret your body’s signals accurately, the body itself can finally relax and continue healing without resistance.
Amino Acid Therapy
Your brain chemistry has a direct impact on how you think, feel, and function every day. Amino acid therapy helps restore that chemistry naturally—without relying solely on medications that often mask the problem instead of fixing it.
Amino acids are the building blocks for neurotransmitters like serotonin, dopamine, and GABA—the very messengers that control mood, focus, motivation, and calm. When those levels get depleted (from stress, poor diet, medications, or genetics), it can lead to symptoms like anxiety, depression, irritability, fatigue, or intense cravings.
By using targeted amino acid supplements and nutritional strategies, we help your brain rebalance itself—often leading to better mood stability, energy, and emotional resilience. It’s not a quick fix, but it’s a sustainable, root-cause approach to mental health.
Functional Diagnostic Nutrition (FDN)
This is where we stop guessing and start testing. Functional Diagnostic Nutrition® looks at how your body’s major systems are actually functioning—hormones, gut health, detox pathways, nutrient absorption, and more—to uncover the root causes of your symptoms.
Unlike conventional medicine, which often focuses on suppressing symptoms, FDN connects the dots between your lab results, health history, and lifestyle patterns to show us why your body is struggling in the first place. From there, we create a customized plan to bring things back into balance—using food, targeted supplements, and lifestyle strategies that support your unique biochemistry.
The goal isn’t to chase diagnoses. It’s to identify and correct the imbalances keeping your body stuck in survival mode so that true healing can finally happen.

While the tools I use are rooted in science, my approach goes far beyond protocols or one-size-fits-all systems. It’s a combination of everything I’ve learned—through specialized education, personal healing, and years of seeing what actually helps people get better.
I draw from a variety of evidence-based techniques, but three methods form the foundation of my work: Functional Diagnostic Nutrition, Amino Acid Therapy, and Pain Reprocessing Therapy (along with other nervous system regulation and brain retraining tools).
